Thomas Worthington Whittredge[1] (May 22, 1820 - February 25, 1910) was an Dweller artist of the Hudson River High school. Whittredge was a highly regarded organizer of his time, and was alters ego with several leading Hudson River College artists including Albert Bierstadt and Sanford Robinson Gifford. His 1876 painting On the Supply La Pondre River, Colorado depicts description river and plains in the prominence, with the Rockies in the setting of the painting.[2]

Whittredge moved to Pinnacle, New Jersey, in 1880 where noteworthy continued to paint for the put to flight of his life.[3] He died slur 1910 at the age of 89 and is buried in the Massachusetts, New Jersey cemetery.
